Gmail does not allow directly to add insert images on email body. But there is a hack.
If you want to insert images from online page then just copy that image. For copy image, right click, and click on View Image or View Background Image.

Now, only a image will be visible on the browser. Now Press Ctrl+C for copy this image and paste it to your email body. Click at the place of the body where you want image to appear and then Press Ctrl + V.

Second option is to use Gmail plugin. Go to Settings -> Labs -> Select Inserting images.

If you have images on your computer then you may think how to add images using first Step! You can open images on your browser. Go to File -> Open File. Now follow as said in first step.
